Here's a thought.

There is a MS Reader add on for word that can then be used to save your output in "Lit" format.

If all your word files are small (several pages) why not merge them into one doc.

Open a master (your first one) then open each of the others in turn and add them to the bottom of the growing master.

Change the title of each new doc to a "Header 2 or 3) after inserting it.

Don't forget to issue a save every now an then to your master.

Then save the final doc as a "Lit" file. This can then be easily run through Calibre to create an ePub file. It should now have a table of content which points to each topic within it.

If this didn't work just run the ePub through Sigil and manually create the TOC.

Either way you look at it, it will be labour intensive.
