That honor goes to the most uncomfortable pair of shoes ever created. They are the pair I got married in. The reason they were so uncomfortable is because toward the end of the reception, I took one off to try to find out why they hurt so badly. It turned out that in my nervousness, I had forgotten to take out the paper and had just jammed my foot it. Add me to the list. The shoes I wore for my wedding to Chris are horrid. I've worn them just that once, and they gave me a huge bloody blister on my heel. In my defense, though - I have really small (child sized) feet and I was working on a time crunch. I couldn't find shoes anywhere, and finally ended up at the last store we could think of to even look -and found these. They were "good enough" and of course I didn't wear them enough to find out they were going to turn my heels into hamburger.

The thing I've had the longest is a baby blanket. It's a rag now, but it was my "security" blanket as a child, and I still have it.

a Marlin .32 lever action open iron site saddle rifle. it was my first "grown up" rifle, I made my transition from .22's to this one when I was about 9. got my first deer with it, and it is still my go to rifle for anything.

Me too! I got my teddy bear when I was 2! Still have him - now carefully swaddled for protection in a baby's "onsie" outfit! Still even has 1 original eye, and half an ear too!

Probably a gold ring my parents bought me when they went to Antwerp for a weekend when I was nine or ten. I hardly every wore it, at first because it was too big and later I found out I'm allergic to gold.

A little silver bracelet my father gave me when I was born.

I'm a hopeless sentimental, so beyond that, I have stuff from the precious to the ridiculous.

My childhood bible, teddy, gloves, and other mementos going all the way up to high school love letters, hotel keys, favorite college shoes, and a lock from my son's first hair cut.

Not to mention loved ones old mementos - and books!. I just can't bring myself to throw away anything that evokes a sweet memory.

I'm sure my first girlfriend kept my Varsity sweater and my copy of 'Moon River' sheet music, but she won't 'friend' me on Facebook when I ask to get them back. Those would have pre-dated my "Legal Glass" by two years...

The stuffed bunny from one aunt (bigger than I was when she gave it to me at a couple months old) which is easily accessible, and the baby blanket from another aunt which is in storage at the moment, tie for possessions I've had the longest. They're both in surprisingly good shape, too.
