emt, I concur!

Having had the GT for five days now I’m feeling absolutely no buyer’s remorse. I’m finding that I’m carrying it everywhere, much as I do with my cell phone. I normally wear dress slacks at work, and the GT fits nicely in my front pocket (after moving some of my other junk to the other pocket .)

My cell phone battery fares much better since all my impromptu reading, email, occasional web browsing that used to be done on my cell is now happening on the GT, I just wish it was voice enabled so I could dump the cell phone altogether. And the extra three inches of diagonal screen space is a joy for my ancient eyeballs. The 7” screen size is a perfect compromise between screen size and portability.

I use Touchdown for my Exchange email, and I was happy to find that it automatically detects the tab format, and provides a split screen view like I’ve heard advertized for Honeycomb.

I opted for the $35/3GB plan initially because overage on that is only $10/GB, and at this juncture, I think I’ll be keeping it as I don’t have available wifi at work. I’m considering turning on the $20 portable hostspot feature, and turning off Sprint’s $30 one on my EVO. I could use the hotspot on the EVO to feed the GT but it’s a battery hog, it kills my battery in about three hours.

Galaxy Tab now $299 at some Costco

Visited Costco today and decided to check out the Galaxy Tab, only to find they no longer stocked it. They said there was still one store in the area that had some in stock and they were now being sold for $299; while supplies last. Quite the bargain.

So call around and you might get lucky.

Get Galaxy Tab From Sprint!

I had originally gotten a Verizon Tab at Costco for $399 - then I found that Sprint has it for $299 (on contract) so I returned to Costco and went w/Sprint. The Sprint plan is $30/month for 2 Gb of data but it has unlimited text messaging as part of $30.

Since the Tab has a phone number sending texts to and from the Tab is very straightforward using the built-in Android messaging app.

Now, you just get a dumb phone for voice at little cost (even prepaid) and get email/texting on the Tab.

Overall, I save many $$$$$

Wow, practically giving them away shortly after release. Unfortunate for those who locked into a 2 year contract to pay less for the device.
