One more hint: Nintendo DS game consoles can use that kind of adapter, too; and European kids play Nintendo as much as Canadian ones. So places that carry video game equipment might be a good place to look for the right adapter.

I just saw this. You're all good to go, then!
Have a marvellous holiday, and don't eat too much good French food!

Actually, none of the DS versions use a mini-A USB connector like the kobo and the Nintendo adapters sold in the US are 120V only, so buyer beware...

Hmm. That's good to know. My daughter got herself a USB charger cable and USB wall charger for her DS, and I swiped the latter for my Kobo. I assumed she'd got those at a game store. Meant to say that you can probably get a USB wall charger in French gaming stores, not just in regular electronics places.

But Victoria doesn't need one, anyway, because she's got her Blackberry one.

I was recently in Australia on vacation, used my Palm Pre AC->USB charger plugged into a converter, then my Kobo USB cable to charge my Kobo, worked flawlessly.
