I think Watson is so far ahead because he can ring in with the answer faster. The other two players hardly had a chance to answer a question.

It is definitely the ability to ring in faster that put the computer in the lead. The questions are very dumbed down in this special series. So it can't be that they are too difficult for Ken and Brad.

Watson is computing the answer much faster, thus allowing him to ring quicker

This should be an interesting listen about this specific subject and AI in general:
http://onpoint.wbur.org/2011/02/16/w...#disqus_thread Brad Rutter, one of two Jeopardy champions to compete again Watson, will be there as well as a researcher from the IBM Watson project. |

If the idea of this game is to supply a question to which the clue is the answer, some of the responses quoted in the article linked seem a little odd.
"What is narcolepsy?" is not a question to which someone would answer ""You just need a nap. You don't have this sleep disorder that can make sufferers nod off while standing up." Surely a more appropriate question to fit that answer would be something like "Am I suffering from narcolepsy?", wouldn't it? |

I was really hoping for a human win, but at this point it doesn't look like that will happen. |
