Bought a PRS-650 this week from Borders (San Francisco). They had them in stock and sold them for $229. I got a black one - not sure if they had other colors as well. I didn't order through Sony because I was only in the US on a business trip. I paid $252 incl. taxes which is €189. Where I live, they cost €229 (incl. taxes) and aren't in stock anyway.

I actually ended up getting two 950s. They were bigger in my imagination. In reality, they are just right.

Good luck to all you folks waiting for 650s!

How's the split-column viewing working out for you?

I have only read one article thus far and I really like the additional feature of split column. The three column view worked like a charm. The first page of the article was a little different in that the text made up the right two thirds of the page while the left third just had a little synopsis on the bottom portion of the page. In this case, I used reflow which worked okay (about the same as the PRS600). I also tried the two page view and read landscape. That was nice. Of course, it only works while in reflow.

Right now, I am downloading a firmware update. I am not sure what changes it will include, but my reading is on pause... plus after the kids go down, my wife insists on watching some more Battlestar Galactica. (I love that woman.)

I will report more at a later time.
