Yes - you'll see details in that thread in the Calibre forum that Calibre will create an apnx file when converting to MOBI format, but that provides "pseudo" (calculated) page numbering info - it doesn't make it possible to provide page numbering based on a print edition of the book, which is what the Amazon page numbering system does.
