Thumbs up Best reader for Black CDN version is FBReader

Thank you guys for the above thread and responses. I tried Aldiko (several versions) and experienced the half/half page display problem; Laputa crashes, Google eBooks won't install. Haven't tried iReader yet, because FBReader works like a charm!

Grab the newest version (0.99.11 as of today) from:

http://www.fbreader.org/FBReaderJ/

Make sure you download the Android 1.5 package for old devices.

Set the bottom margin to '30' (the maximum), and it will perfectly account for the bottom softbar. Other options are comparable to Aldiko.

Et voila! This cheapo piece of junk is now half-way usable as an e-Reader.

I'm using a Panadigital Kobo reader and calibre to transfer my books and all the books goes to the ebooks folder but in order for my reader to see them they have to be under the ebooks/kobo folder. Is there anyway to change the location where the calibre program sends its information. I now manually copy to the proper folder but there must be a way to change the folder location in calibre.

Use Synctoy from Microsoft to sync a master folder on your PC with the ereader folder that resides in your PDN. You will have to connect your PDN to associate the two folders but once that is done just hook up your PDN via USB and using Synctoy sync the folders once you have updated your master folder on your PC. I*t's quick. If you have an error on transfer just hit the run a second time. I usually find that resolves whatever glitch occurred during transfer.
