The NOOK is due for a cosmetic refresh. I hope the NOOK 2 is a touchscreen eink device. Sony have already established that screen clarity doesn't have to be compromised with their new models. Also, the on screen navigation can't be beat.

I have the 3G Nook and I've never used that feature. As long as I'm at home (most of the time), I use our wifi.
I read a few weeks ago that people were having trouble accessing the 3G, which makes me wonder if BN quit offering the service already. |

It's also a cost cutting measure. Every byte that crosses a Nook 3G costs Barnes and Noble $$ in access fees paid to AT&T. If WiFi is good enough for customers, why pay not stop paying AT&T? 3G is also a bigger deal outside the US but, since B&N does not believe in life outside its own borders (pardon the pun?), WiFi, again, is "good enough".
For the rest of us, there is still the Kindle. |
