This is a great idea! On visiting the page you link in your initial post, I notice that your link for Baen goes directly to the free library. I suggest that you consider three separate links for Baen:

Krittika -- Here's how you can tell if a Kindle book is DRM-free: It will have the following line in the Product Description:
Simultaneous Device Usage: Unlimited The term "DRM" is not used, and if the book has DRM, that line won't be in the description. (In other words, they'll tell you obliquely if the book is DRM-free, but simply don't mention it if there's DRM.) I can't find anything in the Nookbook listings that will tell you if a book has DRM or not. Maybe someone else knows? Jeff |

New here, new uploads
Thanks so much for including me in this list. I have several back list novels and short stories that I've got up at Amazon, Smashwords, etc. My publishers still hold rights to some of them, but I'm slowly adding more. And forgive me if I get lost in these threads.
My novels are romantic suspense. What's in a Name? has placed in the Daphne du Maurier, Aspen Gold, and the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence contests, and received 4 stars from RT Magazine. Running for the wrong reason can still get you killed. Kelli Carpenter has changed her name, her appearance—her life—to avoid being connected to a crime she committed in self defense years ago. But just when she thinks she has nothing to fear, handsome stranger Blake Windsor shows up. He claims to be the handyman her boss sent to help complete the project she's working on—Camp Getaway—a place where inner city kids will get respite from concrete and drive-bys. Being a loner has kept her alive, and Kelli's instincts tell her to leave. But without Blake's help, the refuge for inner city children won't be completed on time. Against her instincts, she accepts his help. Blake Windsor, a corporate executive, accepted his boss's request to find out if Kelli Carpenter is really a woman his boss thinks he knew years before. He begrudgingly returns to the blue-collar construction lifestyle he vowed to leave behind, hoping doing this favor will advance his career. The woman he meets bears little resemblance to the woman he's supposed to find, but something about her mystifies him, and he decides to continue with his deception to learn more about her. When someone makes an attempt on Kelli's life, she runs—but she takes Blake with her. Keep your friends close but your enemies closer is her philosophy. And Kelli is convinced Blake knows something that will link her to her former lover's death, ending her life as she knows it. What's in a Name? is full of twists and turns as Blake and Kelli try to keep one step ahead of whoever is following them—while they try to figure out why. Terry |

Nice to see you here, Terry.
![]() I think what Krittika needs is just the titles, genre, and links (SW and other, such as Kindle, if the other is DRM-free). You're in the right forum, BTW, if you need help with Calibre. (It has its own section.) Jeff |

we restructured the website to make browsing easier and better integrate it with the calibre website. We plan to announce it on the main calibre website in a week or 2 at most. Those of you who asked me to include you, if it is not too much trouble just double check your data. Thanks

I love the idea!
I do think it would be better to add a submission form, or at least instructions how to have one's books added to the list, on the site itself, rather than hiding that information away here. |

Krittika,
thank you so much for your work on this. I can't wait to peruse the list. Thanks also to you and Koval for your work on calibre. You guys continue to make my e-reading experience better and better. ![]() Terry, I'm so glad to see you here. I read tons of RS but unfortunately most of the well known authors are bound up in contracts which restrict uasage (DRM) so a new author (DRM free) is much appreciated. The book sounds good. I'm on my way over to buy it now and wish you the best of luck. Quote:
![]() Xenophon, couldn't agree more. Thanks for reminding us to vote w/our wallets. Turns out Baen publishes a lot of authors I like and I've found some new ones there as well. Last edited by tponzo; 02-13-2011 at 06:00 AM. Reason: added comments |

Dragons in the Stars (alternate download) -- should be http://store.fictionwise.com/ebooks/...-Carver/?si=37 Panglor (alternate download) -- should be http://store.fictionwise.com/ebooks/...-Carver/?si=37 Also, the publisher info is incorrect. The ones that currently list "Baen" as publisher should say "E-reads." The ones that currently say "Smashwords" should say "Starstream Publications." Thanks! |

The site's looking great, Krittika. Can't wait to see it go live.
Just one tiny suggestion: I do appreciate your wisdom in keeping the genre list as tight pas possible, waiting to see how things develop over time, but I think you'll find an additional slot for Non-Fiction (general) handy even at this stage. Carefully looking through the titles so far listed, I've spotted many non-fics loosely slotted into existing fiction genres when they'd be much more comfortable and more easily identified as non-fiction with a separate, simple and single genre listing of their own. Just a thought. All's looking clean, easily navigated and generally wonderful. You've done a fine job. Congratulations and thanks for such a valid initiative. Best wishes. Neil & Tony |

@ Neil: I have non-fiction as a tag but you are right, it should probable be made a main genre.
@ starrigger: Thanks for letting me know. i'll fix those two links. But as for the publisher I was loosely using it as a term for website where the ebook is available. May be I should find a better word. |
