What use would a non-updated documentation be? If there is an update, assume that the manual is updated accordingly.

Manichean, you've no idea how unique the team at Calibre really is! In the mundane world software companies do not give you updated user manuals unless they are marketing a big version change. To find out that the folks at Calibre update the user guide with each software update (not just versions).....that is totally unexpected and awesome. Hence the suggestion to remind newbies (such as myself) that Calibre takes this seriously and provides ongoing updated user guides as well as the weekly updates to the software. While the Calibre software is fantastic, the people who create and maintain it are AMAZING.

If the User Guide is updated, I would like the new version to replace the old version when I update Calibre.

This should be an option.

The user guide (online only: down-loadable) and the Quick start Guide (in your library on new installs) are two different things.

The former, changes frequently to keep up (pant, pant) with the improvements.
The later appears correct (still) as it is only the basics to get you started.
