Hi,

I bought a Cybook Opus in december 2009 for the following reasons:
- It was the smallest (though having a 800*600 screen) and lightest reader at time of buying
- It supports open formats (ePub, HTML, PDF, txt, ...) and its operating system is based on Linux.

I did not regret my choice after more than a year of use...

Sorry for my poor english,
Regards.

I love my opus because:

- it is small enough to be carried everywhere
- with the new hardware and the fast resume I can close the book and reopen it in under 2 sec
- the internal memory is big enough to contain my huge library
- I can clip my reading light on its corner and read in bed without bothering my wife
- I'm partial and I don't care about it

Does the Opus come with a leather cover? If so, is it strengthened to protect the screen?

It comes with a "Black PU leather protection sleeve" (Bookeen) that gives very good protection to the screen and the whole opus. It is strengthened on both sides.

I chose the Opus because I wanted a reader that was :
1 - Simple.
No playing of music. I have a mp3 player that satisfies me.
No internet connection. I have my PC that does the trick, no problem.
No touch-screen, it seemed to me that those screens were more 'fragile'. I musta been wrong there cause it's already the second time I 'broke' the screen in 5 months.
2 - The possibility to have custom fonts. I use Herb Lubalin's 'Souvenir' font which is elegant and soothing for the eyes.
3 - The possibility of reading epub and mobi formats.
4 - Not too expensive. There again, that was without counting the two 60€ extras for replacing the screens.

I just had library's copy of Cybook Opus and it came with the leather cover that is part of the package. To be honest, I have no idea how you guys handle your readers. There is no way you can break it in that cover unless you are really careless about the reader.

Thank you! You cannot see it now but it is pink underneath. I got bored with the color soon after I bought it. I even put skin over the buttons and it works fine. The skin was custom made + matte finish.
