I suppose this app works if you have static ip, doesn't it?
(My internet operator works with dynamic ip ...)

SoftLocker Update

I used the SoftLocker app yesterday from 6:00am to 10:30pm. My device never went to sleep (screen was off) and the WiFi stayed connected. I had a full battery charge when I started and at the end of the day it was at 33%. Screen brightness was at 25% then dropped down to 9% at night for reading.

I suggest using this app if you have WiFi problems. At the end of the day disable it and let your device sleep overnight.

Im using the Tasker application that turns the wifi off when the NC sleeps and turns it back on when the NC wakes up. This is automatic and thus you dont need to 'remember' to turn Wifi off and on.

Maybe this may help in preventing you from having to constantly restart your router.

Update for this morning......

Had no issues with the wifi being disconnected when I woke up my NC.....I think the wifi static is just keeping the wifi connection "ON" even when it's sleeping (what Spare Parts was supposed to do I thought)..... I seem to remember before the Wifi Static App.....that the wifi icon in the bottom right corner would not be "ON" for some amount of time after waking up.....so far it's always there.....

Not sure how it's affecting the battery.....the battery was at 63% when I left for work this morning.....left it on (with the book I was reading loaded - trying to make it seem like at night when I fall asleep), so it will go to sleep as usual.....when I get home I'll check the battery %...... and of course whether I have a connection upon waking up.....

ETA: I still have Spare Parts set to "Never" as well

Update#2
No issues with wifi after returning from work and waking it up.......the wifi icon was on immediately......,battery widget, says 57%.....so it lost 6% durng it's sleep period, couldn't say if this is normal, since I haven't really been tracking battery usage much......

Wifi static may have fixed my issue....... :fingerscrossed:

FYI, I made a point to check my battery life last night. At 9:30 pm it was at 99% when I put it to sleep. At 8am this morning it's still at 99%. A few programs, including Dolphin HD, are sitting in the background but WiFi has not been on.

Cool Slight variation on wifi problem

The nook color is running a rooted version of 1.1.0 and has been able to get onto a ruckus 802.11a/b/g access point consistently till it was rooted.

I've tried reboots, forgetting, etc....but if I leave it sitting in the wireless settings menu, after a long while (several minutes) I hear the alert tone and it's connected...but before I can do any connections, it's gone.

Now without changing anything, I can connect to my mobile 802.11n cradle point router just fine. I will be updating the ruckus firmware in a bit, but was hoping the little blip connect might give someone the clue to help me track this weirdness down.
