Just dear god NO UNBOXING VIDEOS. I mean do people actually care about watching someone take a thing out of a box? If so then the school administrators and teachers out there should all be forced to repeat Kindergarten until the learn how to open a box and that the crap in it, out of the box.

I'm disappointed, there haven't been any "vaporware!" comments yet.

![]() hmmm... looks a bit unresponsive on those videos. Actually, I saw another one yesterday, it was a comparison against Galaxy Tab, looks unresponsive there too. But, those are videos, I can't tell for sure or by myself. I wish I'm wrong and the overall speed is good, I guess I will have to wait and see if there is a pattern on those reviews or not. This is not an iPad killer in my opinion but it is a very promising device. I want to like this device because the new LCD technology. Let's see... |

![]() Let's hope that his screen protector was really affecting the responsiveness of the screen. ...and that they issue a firmware update for the GPS so that it isn't inaccurate by a measure of 10,000 miles. I suppose users will just have to get used to the glare affecting the eink-style reading mode. Last edited by Richey79; 01-25-2011 at 09:21 AM. |

In fairness to the Adam, it was running 9 apps at once (the iPad runs one plus some background official processes). So I think Notion Ink is overly optimistic about its multi tasking capabilities. Also, those pictures were deliberately reflecting light off the glossy screen back at the camera. This is the same issue with all glossy screens (including iPad).

Thanks for posting that, goodreader.
"Also the Pixel QI model we have allows for NO glare and the battery life is amazing. It has been running 1080 P video streaming to the television and streaming audio for 16 hours so far, and it is still at 45% battery life." Interesting stuff. Let's hope many of the problems can be fixed by firmware updates. It was a major concern to see that the guy who made the Youtube video had a problem with water vapour condensing inside his screen, however. Some less than positive reviews from people who claim to own the device in the comments section, also. Last edited by Richey79; 01-27-2011 at 05:00 AM. |

goodreader,
Thanks for posting. Based on your review and other Youtube videos I've seen from current/early owners, it looks this device needs a firmware upgrade. A real shame. In my opinion, this was rushed and not fully tested. I agree with you, like any other hardware which depends of a software or Operating System to work properly, you should expect some issues on its 1st release, but it looks like the issues are too many in my opinion. Let's see. Still I think is a promising device but for that price I would expect less problems. The Galaxy Tab has not received any firmware upgrade yet, and I've had zero problems since I bought it weeks ago. |
