At least I've got more sense than a neighbour of mind who went in August, because it was cheap. They found it a little on the warm side . Winter is peak season in Egypt, which is why I'm going at Christmas .

I know of a couple of people who have been to Egypt (Sharm El Sheikh) and not seen the Nile or the Pyramids.

I've been there in 2009. Wonderful and beautiful. But if you ever go; go also to Syria: Damascus, Aleppo; such beautiful Roman buildings and such I never saw. And than Jordania: the desert where Lawrence of Arabia fought and the cave where he hid himself. But Petra: really is astonishing, beautiful. But don't go for just one day in Petra, but 2 or 3. It's not just the treasury, but also all kind of other buildings and tombs.
