Thanks, I'll check this out. I'll upgrade the server this week, so things should be back to normal latest next week.
I will probably impose some restrictions like "one user can have a maximum of 5 eDocs" or something to keep it functional for weeks instead of days

Thanks for the reply! I understand the limitations. I shall try to reschedule the delivery time to see if that will better accommodate my reading habit.

Ok, we are back with a monster server. Hope this lasts for a while. Enjoy, and please, be considerate and limit yourself to a maximum of three eDocs. This way a lot of people can enjoy the service. Thanks!

I can't login nor do I get any subscriptions. Is the Software-Code uploaded somewhere? How can I install/run it?
Can you please publish the whole GUI? Thanks in advance...

Hi godlich, sorry, what you can see now is just the static content, not the once active server. As promised I have published the whole source code for the ReadBeam calibre frontend here:

https://github.com/tomschlenkhoff/ReadBeam

Please help yourself and make something remarkable!

Tom

Hi Tom. I downloaded all the code but have never worked on RubyOnRails before so do not know how to configure this thing on my server. Its a basic cpanel server. I am familiar with configuring normal php scripts (create database, edit config file, give permissions and it starts working!). Is it possible for someone to help me out with the configuration?

Hi champrock. I don't have clean step by step instructions just my own quick notes to deploy the ReadBeam server. Check these out: http://tom.schlenkhoff.me/post/24889...on-cheat-sheet

Hope this is of use.

Too bad this is dead before I even knew about it.

Does someone continue with it now it is open-source?
Or are there readbeam alternatives out there?

I haven't tried it out, but a reddit user put this together:
