Anne, you need to be on the main page of a sub-forum, such as "News," "General," "Discussions," "Amazon Kindle," etc. On the lefthand side, right above the words "Threads in Forum," you will see "New Thread." Click on that to create your new thread. I hope that helps.

I don't have complaints on the page turning of my readers. The Kindle is a bit faster than the FBreader... but sometimes depends on the book. I really like them both.

I have a Kobo and the page turns are faster than turning a page on a p-book, and when you push the button a few words ahead it's fine. And the newer Kobo has even faster page turns
