You need to use the activation code bookland.net provided you and enter it into the device under the registration menu. If you don't have an activation code you didn't register your device by ADDING it under My devices or the like when logged into bookland.net

I did finally manage to Add My Device by using the Browser on the device ! When I now log into Bookland.net I can see my Pocketbook 602 in the My Devices area. It also shows the registration result, showing it as registered BUT I still have the registration option on my device and every now and again it still asks me to register on start-up !! I still have no credit in my account and now wondering how to get rid of the Registration screen on my pocketbook ! Have emailed Bookland support but no reply as yet. |

Don't assume that I know what I am talking about, but if this is something that shows up at start-up, maybe there is a mention in the global.cfg file which can be found in system/config. I have there an ask4lang=0 and ask4licence=0, and those were things that I was asked when I initially booted the device. I wasn't asked to register to bookland when I got the device, but when I registered the registration option in the menu turned into favorites. Do you have favorites in your menu? |

Hi, on the Main screen I don't have a Favourites (it's in the Library part). I will have a look at the global.cfg and see what's there. Haven't heard back from Bookland yet but I don't expect to. I just want the annoying Registration screen to stop popping up, as I have already registered. Bit frustrating but not stopping the enjoyment of such a great device ! |

I was looking into my global.cfg file (full with hope of getting rid of this annoying request to register). I did find ask4licence=0, too, but nevertheless I'm asked again and again. But this is such a crazy device that I'm quite sure that this setting will work on other people's devices. | |

I think that ask4licence=0 might refer to the licensing agreement that you have to agree to at the beginning. But the bookland registration should be in there as well. Can you post the contents of your global.cfg file?

Yes I can, but which part are you especially interested in? For instance, it doesn't make any sense to copy all the lines beginning with "key" here. And there is no line containing the word "bookland". But it really isn't a big problem for me anymore. Meanwhile I'm more amused than annoyed to see this pop up every now and then. |

A bit weird this the first thing I tried was entering the Activation Password from Booklands website and it wouldn't take it ! However, I thought I would try it again, checking everything twice this time and what do you know it worked ! I was quite surprised ! But at least I won't get that pop-up again. Thanks for everyone's help on this. |

Let me try to answer all of your questions: 1. The $30 credit applies to the 602, 701, and 902 purchased after Christmas 2010 through 1/31/2011. 2. The $30 credit is still available for purchases of a 902 or 602, but no longer on the sale of the IQ as it has been reduced in price to $139.99! 3. Only need to register the device if you plan on using Bookland.net. If you do not, just "skip" the registration process. 4. To register the device, go to Bookland.net. Create an account. Then go to the upper right hand portion of the screen and click on "my devices." Then enter your serial number. Bookland.net will email you a key code which you will enter into your device to complete the registration process. Once that has been done, you should see your $30 credit. 5. If you followed the registration steps but your device would not register, email service@pocketbook-usa.com or call the tech guru Bill at 1-877-326-0196. 6. If you've gotten your device registered but still have not received your $30 credit and it has been more than 48 hours since you registered, email christi.gibson@pocketbook-usa.com and we'll get you taken care of. Please include the date of purchase and location (store, online, etc). |
