I used the $50 credit for the following:

Christopher Hitchens - God is not Great
Peter F Hamilton - Pandora's Star
Peter F Hamilton - Judas Unchained
Terry Pratchett - Small Gods
Terry Pratchett - Guards Guards
Issac Asimov - The Foundation Trilogy

I've read them all (apart from Hitchens' new book) several times and will reread in the future on the Reader.

So far I bought:
Tony Ballantyne - Capacity
Tony Ballantyne - Divergence
Peter F Hamilton - Pandora's Star

Last time I checked the rest of the credit is valid until the end of august, so I hope to 'buy' some more SF books ...

I've read that one. I think it's a good book, but I have mixed feelings about it.

Anyway, how many pages has it on the Reader? 1,500? 2,000? Now I am getting used to it, but at first, when I saw books with so many pages, I felt dismayed.

It has 2103 pages with a large size font, which seems to be the same as a medium on many books I've read.

I've read the intro, but haven't really started to read the book yet.

I'm browsing the web right now to decide what will I buy as soon as my reader arrives.

Actually, I just want to say hi to Andanzas. Finally I have ordered it (and it was your fault, so you can start feeling bad )

Perdido Street Station? Sweet, I was given a signed copy a few years ago by the publisher. I found Mieville's works too be a bit dark and gloomy though; it wasn't too bad, but it took a bit to get used to (at least I finished it).

BTW Andanzas, if you search the forum you'll find a similar thread where people posted a listing of the books they picked up with the original credit. I think it was originally posted back in Jan or Feb, but was still active in May.

¡Anda, qué sorpresa!

I hope you like it as much as I do. Well, with your huge collections of ebooks, there is no way you won't like it.

Let me know what you think of it when it arrives.

Enjoy!

By the way,

I'm sure I'll love it. As you say, i've got "some" reasons

Is there any software so I can start the conversion before I get the reader?

PD. If you want any ebook, ask me.

Most of your books are LIT, aren't they? I have never used Microsoft Reader, but it seems that the most popular program around here is Book Designer, and it also converts LIT. Here you can find a good tutorial to get started: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10313 This is another program you might want to check out: http://www.processtext.com/abclit.html

If you find any problem, don't hesitate to ask. People are very helpful around here.

PD: Except me.

But that's only because I know nothing.

I forgot to mention that you can use the Reader software (http://ebooks.connect.com/downloadclient.html) to preview how your books will look on the Reader. This really comes in handy when you are formatting your first titles. You can also check if the links work, bookmark certain pages, or organize your books in collections. I don't find this last feature very useful when organizing all the books on my PC, but it makes it easier to find books on my Reader.

Most of us knew nothing when we got here, Andanzas, I'd say you're coming along well.

I knew that if I didn't go on and order the books that I probably forget about it and lose the credit.
So I got a few bundles of books.

The Liveships Traders Bundle - Robin Hobb
The Tawny Man Trilogy bundle - Robin Hobb
Tears of Artramon bundle - Sarah Ash
Manifold Trilogy Bundle - Stephen Baxter

I still have around 2 bucks left, trying to decide if I want to enter my credit card stuff and use that up on another book.
