Yep, it's the book!!
I sent it to my Kindle then got sidetracked for awhile. When I went to check it was frozen solid. Took awhile to reset it, but all back to normal now and book is deleted. I wasn't upset since I kind of expected it to happen. I also knew it wouldn't do any hardware damage. You can rest assured your Kindle is not at fault. ![]() |

The one on MR would have been formatted and uploaded by a member, so is clearly different. I didn't try Amazon's older version - only the 2006 one. |

My understanding (entirely anecdotal) is that when Amazon first set up the Kindle store, they loaded it up with several thousand PG ebooks (not sure if it was by arrangement with PG or not) in order to have a decent selection of (free) ebooks available from day 1.

As far as I know, no-one's come up with a convincing explanation as to the cause of the problem. |

I would make sure to call Kindle CS and let them know the problem you are having with that book. In the past they have pulled books with formatting issues and the like. My guess is that they will pull this book if they hear from folks that it is causing Kindles to crash

From what I understand: The lighted kindle and the non-lighted kindle covers both have tabs that swivel into the slots on the edge of the device. The lighted kindle receives the power for the light by the top tab touching a source of current inside the device. When they made the non lighted cover, the length of the tab was not changed so it still touches this power source. You can think of it like a wall outlet... if you put a plug with metal prongs into a wall outlet it will power the device that it is attached to. If you put a metal fork into a wall outlet, the results are quite different.
