I even had to teach my 5-year-old to call it Mommy's ereader and not Mommy's Kindle. But I think "reader" sounds better than "ereader" anyway.

What, no votes for calling it Bobby? I think it is a marvelous name for a reader.

So I guess my 650 would be Sirty (SR-TE) if we went for the Star Wars abbreviations.

I giggle thinking that the 350 would be Syrupy (SR-PE).

The longer I think about it, the better I like Booker. Sounds cool

The way I see it; I'm the ereader . What I am reading is my book. I like the idea of branding one of these digital devices as Dewey as it will hold all kinds of books. I would also love to have a similar catalog system on my Sony.

I was reading "I Robot" and wondered what the roboticists would have called a robot with designation PRS-950. Most of Asimov's were pretty straightforward:
RB series robot became Robbie
SPD-13 became Speedy
QT-1 became Cutie
DV-5 became Dave
NS-2 became Nestor

PRS-x50 becomes... Pierce? Percy? Pris[cilla]?

Also, if a manufacturer finds this thread, feel free to use these names. PM me for the address to send the obscenely large check. Thanks!

Clearly you should be calling your Sony "Monteverdi." Or perhaps "Busenello" would be a better (if even more horribly obscure) choice for an ereader...
