Awesome! It is actually going to be delivered today according to the website! I will probably use it for novels and such. Books like reference or with color photos I can still view on the iPad. Plus I can shop any ebook store because I have all the reading apps on my iPad. I use amazons store the most though.

I have both and love both. My Kindle is my 'go everywhere' companion and my IPad is my little piece of indulgence.

I'm planning to get an iPad soon, but as supplement and for other kinds of uses, not to replace Kindle.

I know the feeling. My daughter can view her favourite interactive books and TV shows on her own. She's also an expert at Angry Bird ("Angwy Birds"), Plants vs Zombies ("Chombie") and Cut the Rope.

I actually sold my ipad to buy a kindle

So , yeah, it's not bad. I find I use my iphone4 for all the stuff I thought I'd use my ipad for , and the reading features were nice, but the LCD and battery life were not preferable for long term reading.

My 5 cents - I also have a 10.2" netbook, 15.4" Thinkpad laptop, big case desktop with two 24" monitors, big Natural keyboard and mouse and finally I have a Kindle and a Smartphone (Nokia X6). Each of these devices have the different usage. I use them almost every day (or at least once a week, as I use netbook rarely on trips only). I am looking to buy an iPad-like tablet too (but not Apple's iPad, I want either Android based or Windows 7 based and yeah, I want it both).

I use my iPad to read magazines and newspapers. My Kindle is for novels. Makes perfect sense to have both. The times that I don't have my Kindle, I can still read my novels on my iPad using the Kindle app and be synchronized with the Kindle. It's great!

I have an iPad and kindle and carry both with me wherever I go. I'm a student so always have a satchel with either my ipad or laptop in it and the kindle is so small and light it makes sense to carry it around too.

They are very different devices. I did the opposite to you - I bought the iPad after owning a Kindle - and was afraid I would stop using the kindle when it arrived. But after the initial novelty wears off you will use each device for the purpose it is best suited for - the iPad for internet browsing and media consumption, the Kindle for reading novels. |

for websites it's good but really, it's just a toy. for reading nothing comes close to the e-ink display. |
