Considering how few new e-Ink readers (especially 8"+ screen size) are coming to the market, this certainly sounds like a good compromise. |

I really have to wonder about some journalists. ComputerWorld publishes this article titled CES: 11 tablets worth watching and they don't even mention the Notion Ink Adam.
And then they publish another article, Visual tour: Top tablets from CES, but even in this article they describe the camera only as "front facing" even though it's the only swivel camera I've seen on a tablet PC. They also don't mention Eden or the battery life; some of the most unique features. At least they mentioned the Pixel Qi screen. Etienne66 Last edited by etienne66; 01-11-2011 at 04:56 PM. |

What surprises me more is that I am yet to see a hands on review comparing the screen to eink, or even to a good quality LCD, like the iPad's.
The videos I've seen are not too encouraging, so I'd be curious to learn what real users think. Last edited by Sonist; 01-12-2011 at 03:12 AM. |

I agree with you Sonist. I've been telling all my friends to wait until I get mine for them to see if the device will do what they want. Then again, no one can order one right now anyway.
Some of the ones that were supposed to ship this week have been delayed because Notion Ink was still waiting on their FCC and CE numbers to apply to the units. But some of those not in the United States I suspect will be getting theirs in the next week or so. For what I know about the screen quality. I've heard that the colors are not as crisp as the iPad, but you can read it outside in the sun unlike the iPad. I already knew that it wouldn't be as crisp, but I'm hoping it will be acceptable. We'll see. Etienne66 |
