I find animation annoying (in general) and because of this I don't generally use the Cover Viewer at all. I've already turned off the "zooming" cover of the Book Detail, as well.

A grid view of cover thumbnails would allow browsing of book covers with little negative impact and none of the animated effects.

I also leave the cover browser OFF

2 's

1)Set the preference:Cover Browser to run in a seperate window. Drag that wider.
2) set the number of covers to show to a slightly higher value (if you have a wide monitor)

Use the Up Down Arrow keys, that seems to skip the Animations

I found a way to get all the covers in a folder:
Select clibre library folder
Make a search with "cover" as key
Once you get all the list: Ctrl A (select all)
Copy
Paste in a new folder with option "Keep the two files" (All the covers have the same name)
That's all folks

Thanks for the tip, but while helpful it is not optimal, because:
  • separation of title from cover (in the unlikely event you have to change a book's printed title for some reason)
  • does not account for library updates (new books and/or updated covers)
  • creates duplicate files (cover images) which after immediate use, are needless (without auto update, copying must be repeated to make sure all covers are included)
