That is why we are taking 2 to Punta Cana in April... at least 1 should survive...

I had a plastic bag for my Kobo for by the pool & beach - as well as water, sand could be an issue. It was very easy to read through. I didn't have a ziploc or baggie of the right size, so I got a cello bag and folded the top a couple of times, and put it into its case. Not waterproof by any means but resistant to splashes and sand.

For poolside or beach use, you may want to use your Kobo from within a ziplock bag. It works and the screen is still very readable if you kinda sorta fit the bag to the device with tape (on the back). The six year old in my life (AKA Miss Stickyfingers) has her reader bagged as the default.

for that matter, get a vacumm seal bag and your golden. Our 9 year old is going to Cuba with her dad and gf next week and this should protect it. Thanks Taming!

I cried when reading the book Secret Daughter: A Novel last night. Having a protected device might have been a good thing .

LOL! I didn't know that. Makes me feel better about making my homemade one too big- and now I'm glad I didn't rush out and buy one as I had intended!

I made a hard case the cheapest and easiest way possible. Take an old DVD case and cut out the part that holds the DVD and voila! It is a perfect fit for a Kobo. I even added some velcro on the back of the Kobo and on the case to help hold it. Best of all when stored in there it looks like a crappy movie instead of a high tech gadget someone will want to steal!

I did that the other day. In bed though. I'll never forget that "CRACK" sound.
