Thanks for this information.

Putting aside the issue of the BAEN site, and expanding to the general case that will be of value to new Nook owners for many months:

What about Sony LRF and Ebookwise IMP ? Where do they fall in the order above ?

Also, which formats besides Epub can a Nook use without any conversion ?

Yeah, I wish I'd discovered it before purchasing a bunch of Honor Harrington books during a Fictionwise sale a couple months ago. The entire series is available for free download, except the most current volume appears to be an advance reader copy, so I went ahead and purchased that one, thinking I'd get it in a final edited form that way. But on the other hand, I've gotten so many free ebooks from Baen that it's nice to give them some money

Anyway, drop by there and check it out. Loads of stuff that isn't in the free library:

I'm not sure. Maybe someone on the Calibre forum can answer that.

I think Nook can do eReader, epub, and pdf. Nook Color can do epub, pdf, Microsoft Office formats, and txt--in addition to some image, video, and music formats.

I always find it easiest to convert from HTML to ePub. Maybe HTML is not the best, but it always gives me the desired result for my PRS-505.

Good suggestion.

Their answer was that LRF is the bottom of the list (least preferred), and IMP is not accepted by Calibre at all.
