I finally gave up trying to figure out a way to sync this stuff, and grabbed a free app in the market called "Synker Beta," which gives you full control over what is going to sync, and even the little refresh icon pops up down near the time. It appears to be working just fine, instantly updating Gmail calendar on my computer screen and also the Nook. |

Here are a few screen grabs of where I'm at right now, along with the synker beta initial setup screen. I think I can confirm that the syncing portion of the Android OS is missing from this device - when you enter the sync settings later in time, there is a selection called "Accounts & Sync Settings" - and this will crash the device it seems.

On a sidenote, Jasoraso, did you happen to notice that all the apps in that person's ZIP file are dated 2/28/2008?

Now, if I could just figure out how to get LauncherPro do what it should with Nook:
1) Allow me to change the shortcuts for the dock icons (phone, mail, etc.) 2) Allow me to properly apply a wallpaper without resizing it on me. I'm completely stumped on this one, I realize that you have to stretch the selection window over the photo, but it just doesn't matter, launcherpro will downsize it anyways. |

Alrighty, I'm trying to get ADW launcher to work, version 1.3.3.
Right now, it is using scrolling desktop, how do I disable this so there is only one desktop screen instead of 5? Using a photo, at 1024x600 for wallpaper, I still can't get it to select an area, and stick with it. For some reason, immediately after increasing the zoom area in the wallpaper setup, it just reverts back to some smaller area. |

Also, in case you don't know you can change the App Drawer Style so that all the apps just show in one page (vertical) instead of fanning out across pages. (horizontal) With regard to the wallpaper, I always use the wallpaper app that comes with the stock NOOKcolor. In other words, I have the same wallpaper on the stock NOOKcolor home screen and the ADW Launcher desktops. Last edited by SCION; 12-16-2010 at 12:57 AM. |

Yep, got the App Drawer to show pretty much all apps, so that's good. Also managed to implement a higher res wallpaper.
Regarding the wallpapers, I wish that I could just create 1024x600 jpg images, and move them into the [apparently hidden] wallpaper directory on the NC, and then just select the wallpaper on the Nook like you would the default wallpapers. I'd really like to see the pixel res details on the stock Wallpaper images if I can figure out how to get a hold of them. |

Not sure. I'm pretty sure I've tried that, but I'll look into it after work tonight. Let me ask you this; is there a way to select a wallpaper WITHOUT having the Nook force you to drag a smaller selection area of the jpg file that it eventually uses for the wallpaper size?
I'm confused as to why I save a 1024x600 wallpaper jpg, but then have to select a smaller area during the wallpaper selection on the Nook. I know that the native res of the Nook is actually 854x480, and it upscaled to 1024x600, so perhaps it has to do with that? Maybe I can test a jpg image at the 854x480 res and see if the Nook will just take it at that size without forcing a smaller selection area. |

I too was struggling with the Wallpapers. I noticed the stock wallpapers were .png files; so I used a program on my desktop (the free program ifranview I think) to save my .jpg as a .png at a resolution of around 840*935 and then copied to /media/myfiles/wallpapers.
When I go to the Settings page (with the limited device settings available) and under "App Settings" then "Home" then "Set Wallpaper"; the .png file I created shows up under the WALLPAPER tab (scroll down) instead of using a photo under the Gallery tab. It does NOT ask to resize and works great. I have 3 tabs on my launcher (ZEAM) and it is a little too narrow - need to resize/crop again and make a new .png, but for now it works great. Oh, thanks for the tip on Synker - trying it out now. EDIT: the default wallpapers appear to be 840x1024 Last edited by jasoraso; 12-16-2010 at 06:50 PM. |
