That looks REALLY shiny. Glare is an issue.

My concern, as someone who knows nothing about this foldable screen technology, is how you keep it firm and straight? Is there a point you press, or am I going to have to worry about a corner drooping like a newspaper (though probably not as bad as a paper).

those are prototype displays meant just to display the tech itself. in person they are very quick to point out that they do not have the polarizing and anti glare layers that would be found on production units.

That was one of the hurdles faced by the crew at Polymer Vision. Their original concepts all showed a articulated x or z brace between the two halves of the device with the display itself rolling into a tube on one side.



In practice people want to touch the display for touch control. So thats why Readius developed into a display with a jointed metal backing that rolled AROUND the device. This way the rolled display has the stiff backing that people expect when they touch it.
