I had problems with 2.4.1 battery drain but only when I had Locker installed. I went directly to 2.5.1 and have had no problems at all, provided Locker is not installed and airplane mode is used.

I've had my nook rooted since 1.4 and get good battery life. The main issue, I believe is to modify the rooting so that adb doesn't run continuously and then use WI_FI Locker to turn it on only when needed and turn it off afterwards. To change the default to adb OFF see Naerymdan tutorial http://nookdevs.com/User_talk:Naerymdan. The info to change the default is under: Reduce battery consumption .

zombie thread but ill chip in, i have non rootable 10035 nook, and after 1.5 stock update my battery life also suck very bad (few days vs 2weeks, and i dont even use wifi)

@he3r0: same here. Non-rooted nook, 10035, 1.5 update, less than a week battery life.
