I would rather keep them in the same section. Even if some folks forget about the "color" marker, it's still easy enough to spot from the subject (most times anyway).

This won't stop people from posting color comments in the classic section and vice-versa. This happens all the time and makes things very messy.

It has been a while now and clearly, the mods seem not to want to split things so we will just have to deal with the confusion, misinformation, and messed up postings.

If I was hosting the forum, administrating it, or better yet, paying for all of this on a monthly basis, I'd be inclined to make a decision.

As it is, I'm just happy to have a fantastic spot to come and mingle.

Seeing the new stickies, I'd like to bump this thread instead of creating a new one. It'd be awesome if we could get a better management system!

***EDIT*** *facepalm* I'm an idiot, sorry I found a more recent post from someone of my viewpoint, ignore this post as I will reply to theirs.

There should be a clear differentiation between the Nook Classic and Nook Color posts. It's irritating to open up a post, start reading it, then see that the owner has a Nook Color in the end.

The problem is that people who don't usually post (whether they are new or not) don't know about adding a prefix to the thread they start. Yes, they see prefixes used, but it's not exactly intuitive when you start a thread the first time. Many are nervous when they post the first time and are concentrating on getting the thread title right.

If there was a way to force someone to make a choice, then that would solve the problem of threads with no prefix. The drop down menu for prefix is just overlooked. There's no explanation of what the prefix is. People don't click on it to see what it is.

I have asked several times that the classic nook and nook color have their own separate forums. With so many people getting a new nook for Christmas I feel the nook classic threads are getting buried under the color threads. I go to page 2 or 3 of the nook forum and there are many classic threads going unanswered.
I am a mod on another board (not e-reader related) and it's easy to move a thread to the appropriate forum.
I would like to see a poll to see what others want.

I seriously agree with this thread. Separate forums are okay with me, but if it's absolutely necessary that they stick together, there has to be a clearer division of which threads are about which. Maybe when making a post have us check whether it's Color or not (and make it mandatory to do so)?

I second the notion of having a second forum for the warranty breakers.

Based on your analogy....Wouldn't it be true that those who root the nook classic are breaking the warranty as well?

There is no bitterness. Its just my opinion that MR is doing it's readers a disfavor. There are all kinds of warnings and disclaimers about the dangers of rooting on the sites that Scion frequents to gain her knowledge of rooting, but here they get buried and some posters try to paint users who point it out as malcontents.

Oh well.
