I'm pretty ok with spiders and snakes. Snakes don't get in the house here, and we only have a couple of poisonous ones anyway (copperhead and diamondback rattler). I don't generally kill spiders in the house -- we just leave each other alone , but again, we only have a couple of poisonous ones of those, too (black widow and brown recluse), and I can pretty much identify those. I WILL kill those.

Here in the southern USA, though, we are forced to co-exist with the dreaded palmetto bug, which for those of you who don't know, is nothing more than a big ol' roach that can sometimes fly. :shudder: I hate those with a passion. They can't hurt you, but they sure can make you hurt yourself!

How exciting to read all about your creepy crawlies. Brrrrr.......I think in the North of the Netherlands lives a eeny teeny litte adder-snake that is just a tiny bit poisonous. That's the only venomous animal in our whole country. Thank heaven.
Perhaps one get's used to that kind of wildlife? brrrr. You're all very courageous people there over the big sea.

Well, if your ancestors survived that three month trip in a little wooden boat, the descendants unto the seventh generation are inoculated against terror...

Shoot, our poisonous species here, at least in my area, don't hold a candle to the scary things in Australia!

All right; that's it---no Australia for me.
