That doesn't bode well! Perhaps they have improved since you bought their K2 Solis light...? Their Solis for Kindle 3 page says nothing about the light not being available right now. Amazon now has them for sale - http://www.amazon.com/-Reader-Kindle...1049169&sr=8-1 Amazon says the Solis light is in stock, but their description of the item also specifies that the lights are being sold and shipped by Octovo, and that:

Based on the shipping schedule of OCTOVO, choose Standard at checkout for delivery by December 24

This delivery delay is better than the 2 1/2 month wait you had, Skydog, but usually Amazon offers a deal such as one I saw today: "Get it by Tuesday, Nov 30 if you order in the next 6 hours and choose one-day shipping." It is apparent from this and from your experience that Octovo is not known for their efficient and quick shipping! (Of course, those Amazon's shipping deals are only for the things that Amazon stocks in their warehouses, but still....)

@CyberpunkDad - did Octovo give you shipping info and if so, will you also be waiting for weeks to receive your Solis Kindle light? OK I guess if the wait is worth it - and if they also don't charge your credit card until the item is shipped.

@OakIris - Just a quick update. I receieved the tracking into immediately following placing my order.

I just received the K3 Solis 3 days ago and I absolutely love it. The alluminum has a great feel and when you put it on the K3 and swing the arm out it evenly lights the entire screen from top to bottom.

There is no glare or whiteout as some people report with the Amazon lighted case.

My only complaint, and this is minor as hell, is that they didn't include a soft bag case for the light. It would have been nice to include, but wasn't a deal killer for me.

I am very happy to have a night reading option that is lightweight and uses a AA battery (1). Hope this helps some people decide.

Time from order to delivery was about 7 days. That was for the cheapo standard shipping.

Thank you for your impressions/mini-review of the Solis, CyberpunkDad. Maybe you can buy something like this pouch

for a carrying case. Or you might have something that will do just lying around in your house. Anyway, I do believe that I will be saving up my pennies to buy one of these Kindle lights.

That "order to delivery" time is quite acceptable! Apparently Octovo has much improved their shipping process since Skydog bought his K2 Solis light - or you were just very lucky.
