I had the same problems with both of my PRS-650's. Sync would start and just keep going. Tried everything nothing worked. Finally I deleted all books from the PRS650 then tried syncing again. Everything worked fine and continues to do so. Any new books are loaded automatically when I plug in the unit to computer and the sync keeps the library up to date.

Don't sync. It doesn't work well.

Sony has simplified the sync feature. It only updates the differences from the previous sync. Update with the latest software patch release.

I've used Reader Library and I am now using Calibre. I'm staying with Calibre.
