I never had any memory issues so far, but its possible that having a camera you need more.

Logically more memory is going to be more useful when multitasking and unlike with mobile phones, the slight decrease in battery life won't be much of an issue since the larger screen uses a larger share of that battery life.

On the hardware site maybe make it a bit lighter. 7" is too small for my liking, maybe 8" or so. But don't make it 16x9 format. 4x3 is perfect

4x3 is not perfect at all, it is better for browsing, worse for video and isn't ideal for books/magazines etc. compared with a better compromise such as keeping the ratio found in standard paper sizes 1.45:1 or even the 3:2 ratio that they have used before now on the iphone.

The first ipad was a no-sale for me, but if we are talking about gen2 I could be on board. My list of must-haves:

USB ports (2)
Mini USB port for charging and copy/paste (remove proprietary port completely)
SDHC or SDXC card reader built-in
File Browser
ZERO reliance on itunes or any other "sync" app
Ability to install apps from anywhere

I would be okay with the rest of the ipad specs just the way they are (although 16:9 screen format would be an improvement)

I'd like longer battery life AND lighter weight. I don't think the combination is likely soon. I don't want lighter weight if it means giving up any battery life.

What did I say that could only be done by a Macbook....dual core or video editing? The iPhone 4 has video editing, is it such a stretch for the iPad 2?

The big leap I'm imagining, is the ability of the iPad to interact with files in the "cloud" whether that's on the internet or your home pc. I doubt that the iPad 2 is going to come with much in the way of expanded storage. Still, I love the finger interface, and can see myself using an iPad for photo and video editing -- IF ONLY -- the iPad apps could work with files that aren't located on the iPad.

It's not so far fetched.

And dual core is a no brainer. The PlayBook is going to start out as a dual core device.

Just being realistic, that set of requirements will never be satisfied by an iThing, so one might as well just look elsewhere. Not saying it is a good thing.
