Certainly has improved my reading experience
Just to point out to OP, that cover with light is bulkier and heavier.

thanks guys
Im not overly concerned with it being bulkier (with the light) as I always carry a giant purse lol
i really like the Oberon covers but really cant justify spending that amount right now (i *shouldnt* have gotten the reader lol but the price was too good to pass up) so maybe one in the future.
I looked on etsy a bit and Im contemplating making my own, i have a design in mind but i need a material that is hard enough not to bend but easily cut so i can manipulate it, i may get lazy though and get the 40 dollar cover that everyone likes

i just got my free cover-with-light for my 650 from abt.
for the record, its much less heavy and less bulky than i had imagined it. its actually quite nice and useable. I'm pretty happy with it.
I originally thought i'd sell it off or swap it for a regular non-light cover, but now that i see it in person, i think i'll just keep this.

Was it you whose 650 was shipped to the wrong address by ABT? Glad that all worked out (if I'm recalling correctly)!

You don't really need to be a weightlifter to use it though... i didn't notice the weight difference between it on the reader and off.

I've moved over to the Sony sleeve now anyway and just use the lighted cover at night, or when i need it. I found the sleeve better for chucking the 650 in a bag

lol, yes, it all worked out in the end. The poor cover was abandoned on the porch of an empty house for 5 days, subject to passing animals and random trick-or-treaters, because it went to the wrong adderss; abt then sent a ups guy out there to retrieve it, back to illoinois, and then back onto a ups truck to the right address. Took about 4 weeks, lol. But ABT was great about the whole thing, their customer service was very good.

You should see my post on this forum for a cheap alternative to the official 650 case.

That goes for me too! It folds back (double) much more easily than the 505 cover and importantly, for me, though strong is light and adds little to the reader size.

The 650 in it's standard cover easily fits in my jacket pocket or cargo pants.

Personally I see no point in paying a vast sum for a cover which may look individual but both doubles the reader's bulk and more importantly it's weight.

Some will add over half a pound (250gms). and cost you the best part of $80.

I sent M-Edge a note myself because I really liked their Exec cover on my 505. They at least gave me a fast personal response, though not what we want to hear. If we want them to make 650 covers we have to make some noise, so send in those requests. Here is what they wrote me --

"Good morning Eric,

Thank you for the interest in our products! In the future we may have a product line for the Sony PRS-650 available, but nothing currently. We are listening when we receive requests such as yours. I have passed your suggestion to the Product Development Team. Even though we do not have jackets for the PRS-650, we do have compatible products. The following items are compatible and can be viewed using the following link, The Touring Sleeve, Destination Bag, Hip bag, and the Journey Bag:

https://app.medgestore.com/products/prs600/

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thank you!

Take Care,
Gloria
Team M-Edge"
