I read a book on my Sony that was in English but peppered with French words here and there since it was set in France. I switched to the French-English dictionary and looked them up just for fun!

Hey I just had a thought. Maybe I could get through The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao that way (with a Spanish-English dictionary). I confess I couldn't even finish that book. But I don't even know if the Spanish in it is "real" Spanish or Puerto-Rican-American pidgin.

Even more fun, I've switched back and forth on my Sony PRS-650 between the British OED and the American OED, depending on the author, since definitions vary a bit.

I've even used the Spanish and French dictionaries (keying the words in) after hearing or seeing a word elsewhere that I didn't recognize. Pretty cool.

Love the integrated dictionaries on my ereaders, especially the Word log on the new Sony models that keeps track of the words you look up. So nice to not have to keep a paper dictionary nearby anymore. I'm such a word geek that I subscribe to the dictionary.com "Word of the Day".

dictionary.com didn't exist for much of my reading 'career'. :-) (nor anything.com for that matter)

I also enjoy reading in remote areas without Internet access, even 3G.

Ah, but now I can use the dictionaries on my e-reader when dictionary.com is either unavailable, or inconvenient.
