1. I uploaded directly to Amazon's DTP, which is where I make most of my money. I also signed with INgrooves to distribute to all the other e-book stores.
2. Amazon gives a choice about DRM, and I chose not to employ it.
3. Nothing about the process seemed difficult to me. Some things, like editing and cover design, take time, money, and patience, but I've worked in publishing my whole life, so I enjoy all of it.
What requires the most work, however, is promotion. It's ongoing, and to make money, it has to be part of your everyday routine.

Jeffrey:
Not in 30 words or less! I have about ten forums and social networking sites that I post in daily. I blog/guest blog at least once a week, and I send out daily e-mails to bloggers/readers, asking if they'd like to review or feature my books. I participate in marketing forums and read blogs/articles about promoting. I check out everything and participate when it makes sense. And I give away a lot of books.

Sounds like a full-time job, all right. Social networking has always been a hard thing for me to sustain--especially when family life gets complicated. I do it in bursts, and then for a while I can't face it, except in small doses. You're giving me inspiration to give it a more organized effort.
