It is the greyed text that is not showing. What color depth do you have your display set to? It should be on your settings screens. If it is 256, try making it much larger.

I put little black arrows on the picture to point to the problem, truth is I didn't think I could attach a file. Brilliant

If I remember correctly, on XP you can find it by right-clicking on the desktop, selecting properties, then settings. The setting I am looking for is called color quality, which should be near the bottom.

The only thing I can find there is an option to change from 16bit to 32bit(the highest) and it's already set at 32. Thank you for your help Chaley, I've got to go, she who must be obayed is on my back.

It may also be a function of the default font being used. Unfortunately, I know of no easy way to change that, short of changing your system font.

Do you have a CRT or flat-screen (LCD, etc.) monitor?
Flat-screens are notoriously horrible at anything other than their native resolution, and may be losing your text as a result. They just don't know what to do with half a pixel. Changing the system font is usually a matter of changing the default theme or color scheme (options can be found in Display Properties). If you have one of the high-contrast ones selected, that might in some way be the issue. update: I just took another look at the screenshot. There's something HIGHLY funky about that font. It looks for all the world like some flavor of courier, possibly the non-resizeable system variety. I'd investigate just what font that's using, and why, and install whatever it thinks it should have that it's substituting that for. |

It could also be a case of font smoothing gone horribly wrong. If changing the font doesn't work, try switching the font smoothing to the opposite of whatever it is it's switched to now. The setting can be found in display properties -> appearance -> effects

I just wanted to say that I think I've found the problem. I changed the settings in my NVIDEA Graphics card and the script is much better. Not perfect, but good enough to read. Thank you for all the suggestions, time and help.

Here's a screenshot of how it is now. I tried changing the other settings but the Graphic card change was the only thing that seems to have made a difference.
