There's a heck of a lot of music on YouTube that you can listen to. I guess it depends on your definition of "download", but streaming music videos from YouTube certainly counts as a form of downloading, to my mind.

Another form of downloading that nobody's yet mentioned is digital radio. DAB radio, in the UK at least, is transmitted in MPEG-2 format. I have a DAB radio with a timer and an SD card slot. I set the timer to record my favourite programmes, copy the MPEG-2 files to my PC, then use iTunes to convert them to MP3. This is not so much for music as for radio drama.

As I say, it all depends how you think about "downloading". A "traditional" download is perhaps a "download it once and keep it on your PC" thing, but in these days of broadband connections, real time streaming is a perfectly reasonable way to listen to music or video. Look at all the internet radio stations that are out there!

I listen to internet radio everyday. I just never equated it with "downloading"

You have enriched my vocabulary and world view.

The next time I view a YouTube video, I will tell everyone I am "downloading" the YouTube.

To me it's amazon mp3 (now it's open in france), and fnac.
Before, it was buying CD, as there where no decent legal offer.

Got spotify premuim, so i don't buy much music now

I do not have that fine ear. Or that fine stereo or that silent house but ...

I like all music and from time to time I repeat the process of re-listening to it from origin to ... almost nowadays. I mean not every piece, but moving from period to period, and stopping for a while when I find some old friend that becomes attractive again while re-listening.

I also like to load a large number of pieces of all possible genres and let chaos choose for me. Some time the results are quite agreeable.

I like opera also, more if I can see it, although it has become quite a rare event for me, since I live in the country. I got myself enrolled in a plan by which I got almost 80 DVD's (the plan ends with the next 5 issues). The problem is finding the time to seat and watch and listen with calm and concentration, maybe when I will stop working, in a few years from now.

You have to put up a certain amount of money (like 10 Euro) and then you get stuff. I got Nick Drake records from them and made a gift to my wife. I could not find them anywhere else. BTW he was a genius.
