While gathering a ton of information about who is interested in the product, a bunch of free press, not having to pay thousands to a design company, and letting the people decide what they like.

Perhaps you are willing to spend the money to be told what is the best logo but I agree with them.

Possibly, but they have also taken over 10,000 people who voted and, whether or not their logo was chosen, given them a connection to the company. They also probably generated a lot more traffic and more potential buyers.

I sooooo like the potential of this device...it's a tough time right now but if business picks up maybe I'll break my "don't be an early adopter rule"...after Charbax's video of the device it's soooo close to a great device.

And perhaps they are showing they want to be a customer driven and aware company. A thing sorely lacking by most companies.

Also I read some subset of those who submitted logos will get a "substantial" discount on the device. I bet it's likely to be an at cost sort of price. As a contrast I would offer where Astak looked, and still looks, completely unprofessional from day one, these folks don't. Every interview has been mature without being stuffy and just looking at the Adam it's obvious they want to offer a well designed and engineered device. Of course it's one thing to take those steps and another to actually deliver, as we have all seen so many times so far.

Well, I've pinged the PR rep who I first talked to at Notion Ink, and so far no response. Hoping to hear from them soon because I'm so looking forward to reviewing this device.

BTW, if you guys ever want a device reviewed, let me know and I'll see what I can do. I don't do much tech writing anymore, but when I do I really enjoy it.

If you get a chance for a review of the Adam...that would be FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC. There exists more than a few who just looked at the Adam as presented in the Charbax interview at CES and, well, you know how when you see either a person or tech device and just "know" someone got this right, or in the case of a woman "oh, gawds, that's trouble right there with the underlying thought that you are completely powerless to prevent something from developing...sigh, but it keeps life interesting..."

So, if you can, a review from someone familiar to us would be wonderful. Perhaps you might even do a tandem review with Nate who has done great jobs on his reviews to daye.

Yep, an email is already in to Notion Ink, but so far I haven't gotten a response. I'll kick them in another week and see if I finally get some movement. Sometimes you have to knock on the door a few times before someone answers. It's one of the few parts of reviewing I hate.

perhaps get yourself a statue of Ganesh (the remover of obstacles) and ask him to clear the path to have to access an evaluation device!! And fer fer goodness sake don't accidentally get one of Shiva...the destroyer/transformer unless as a last resort!!

NotionInk being an Indian endeavor, I'm sure Ganesh has been in on this from the beginning.

What disappoints me is that the Pixel Qi screen will add $100.00 to the cost.
