hmmmm.... now that you mention it, I went back to have a better look at it in the sunlight. I don't have a camera, mine is broken, so I can't do pictures, but yes, it is chrome plastic indeed. I am wondering whether they used a different type of plastic though, because it sure does not feel the same at all.
