When I sit down with my Sony, Felicity will usually jump in my lap, snuggle in and become a comfortable easel for my reader, with only her whiskers showing at one side, and her tail occasionally swishing from under the other.
That's why I married her.

My hubby is none to thrilled that I have decided that Caya can join me on the bed when I invite her up. But she is so comfy to snuggle with while watching tv and reading...

My cat refuses to cuddle in my lap.

He will occasionally curl up next to me and lean against me for some warmth. But he manages to maintain as little contact as he can while still sucking up body heat.

Ungrateful brat.

Peanut (toy poodle) just cuddles in my lap and snoozes, but Kitty Girl has learned to use the mouse, if I don't pay enough attention to her she will push the mouse around with her nose and randomly click the buttons with her paws. Thankfully, she doesn't like the feel of the keyboard under her feet, so that's usually not a problem.

I don't think I could read without Rudger lying across my lap or Tasha wanting to see what is on the screen. The rest are pretty good about letting me read...Unless it is the pre-bed snack time.

The only safe way to read in our house is on your back with Mr M on your chest and the reader held above the cat. He kindly drops his head down on my neck so I can see the reader. Any other reading position and he is likely to take a bite out of the reader, although this is more likely with gadgets that make noise like the mobile phone.

He also has an annoying habit of walking across the desk in front of the monitor and lying down across the keyboard.

I have to bribe him with a brushing to convince him to sit on one of his own beds.
