OK. I caved in and purchased the thingy-650.
I received it yesterday but was so tired that didn't have energy to enjoy it or play with it. Won't use it a lot until I get the cover anyway, that probably won't happen till next week. After 1 week of usage I will fill in the form and send all the necessary docs to Sony for VAT refund.
We will see.

Congratulations. I have had a 650 for about a month now and really like it.

Hope the VAT refund thing works out for you OK.

I thought the difference was much more stark. I'm very pleased with the 650 in comparison to the 600. I seem to need much less light too.

I'm still waiting for my credit to be applied. I sent in the receipt on Wednesday the 3rd of November. They have not even replied with any kind of acknowledgement.

I sent on 9th. Receipt is dated 2nd November.

Oh, it's safe to give out your bank details - sort code and account number at least. Obviously don't give them out unless someone has a good reason to know them

The end result is the same though, cheque or direct transfer.

I did mean to come back to this thread to say that Sony kindly returned the documents I sent them with a proper letter. That was more than I was expecting.
