I wonder if the person who found it could even return it. If they called B&N, they might get stonewalled out of respect for your privacy.

(I'm assuming of course that you didn't have your name and contact info in it)

Hey, I'm new here and am highly leaning toward getting the Nook (not the color one) so I am happy for you!

Enjoy!

I talked to support and they said the only thing that could be done is to de-register it which is what I did when it was lost. Such is life.

As I understand it, you'll want to change your password at bn.com, since the missing nook still has your old password configured on it.

Welcome aboard! I'm still undecided which one will be my first ereader.

About the nook color I'll wait. It seems it will not be open to android app store, so that's one strike.

coming out of about a month and a half of lurking to say that after yesterday's press conference, i stopped by B&N after work and bought a nook classic! i'd been on the fence btwn nook and k3 for months, and wanted to see what B&N would bring to the table with a 2nd gen device. i have an iphone, so the nookcolor seemed an unnecessary device for me. i wanted to read books on a bigger screen, and eink was an important feature to me, as is the ability to borrow library books. i have been playing with my nook all day and am in love! even sideloaded 3 library books already. thanks to all of you on the forum who helped inform my buying decision-you were all so helpful! beth

Hey, terrific news, Beth. Welcome to the club.

I have to get this library thing down. There are no libraries near me that have ebooks.

Anyway, enjoy.

I believe the Philadelphia free library offers non resident memberships for $15 year.......thats the only one in the US that does so, unless someone else knows of one?

You can do a search to find the thread that talks about it.....

Okay, I will!

My reason for leaning toward the Nook is b/c I can download EPUB files for free from my state's library program, READs. After more researching yesterday, I think I made my decision to get the Nook since the files are EPUB DRM.

hi lionel47, uh, i meant to say this in my first reply to your post, but i was so giddy for myself over my own nook purchase i got carried away talking about myself-so rude of me!

so glad you got yourself another nook! such a bummer what happened with your original one. i've only had mine a few days, but already it seems SO much more convenient than lugging around hardcover books. i can totally understand why you decided to replace it quickly.

enjoy!
