I still have my Sony walkman casette/radio player. It's still in perfect nick and I use it quite a bit. Still have the original earphones as well.
I take good care of my "toys"

Keep it! One day, someone will pay you a lot for it as a collector's item.

This is not unusual. The documentary "So Wrong They're Right" focuses on people who are still devoted to 8-track tapes. It's a very entertaining documentary.

I have a 16gb Sony Walkman mp3 player, I love it. I have had a lot of Sony Walkman brand devices over the years, I think my first was the yellow water resitant sports cassette player. I even have a Sony Walkman mini disc recorder, still works fine discs are hard to find though.

My spouse made a ton of money on eBay last year selling his old punk rock 8 tracks.

I was shocked that an old Iggy Pop 8 Track went for over $500.

Bought my first Walkman in 1981 when I was a teenager. Loved that thing! I had one after another through the 80s and 90s.

Walkman ! The Salvation of my teenage years.

That does bring back present memories of curling up with my walkman and being able to tune out the world. I think I wnt through two or three units through my teenage years, finally shifting to MP3's sometime in 2004.

So bid farewell to an old and loyal friend.

I have a Coby one for the few audiobooks that just aren't available in any other format. Recently, the person next to me on the bus expressed great amazement at seeing a genuine cassette!
