Kobobooks.com: 20% off one ebook - Page 2

Kobo told me the same thing about agency books--but the same agreements do not seem to be in place in Canada as in the US. Out of the Dark is discounted here. My understanding is that when Apple negotiates for books to be in their iBook store, it is with the agreement that the Agency pricing will prevail for all other eBook retailers in that country.

Well I just purchased a book and used the code. The price changed and I pressed the "Buy Now" button but on the next screen I got a message telling me that I had been charged the full price.

A quick call to my credit card provider and they say I have been charged the reduced price!

So it seems like a bit of a bug with the original price coming up on the second page instead of the discount price. Hopefully the others who thought they had been overcharged have really got the deal they thought they were getting.
I have asked Kobo what is going on so maybe they will get back to me.

Thank you! The 20 percent discount together with the standard 20 % means I got 40 % off! ( Yes, Kobo gives me discount. Even on books from the Agency 5. Don't ask me why.)

How often does Kobo offer these discounts? With a discount that puts their cost under Borders, which is typically the lowest cost store. Not ready to buy yet but might consider in the future.

I just confirmed it. In the US, the code will not work for the Agency a$$holes.

Agency 5 is a reality in the US, but not everywhere. Do you see the US site when you visit Kobo, or one customized for Swedish buyers?

I see a slightly modified site, I think. The only books that show are the ones that are available. Which I really appreciate.

What an odd code for this time of year "spring?" Ha!

It seems to work for me - I went and hit apply and it deducted it. Unfortunately the one book that I really want to buy this weekend is Agency Priced and costs $12.99 and thus will remain un-purchased by me.

Silly publishers, prevent Kobo from offering a coupon code and lose a sale.

I bought one book (Alister McGrath's The Twiligh of Atheism) with 20% discount. and it is spring here. In fact I wanted to buy this book but I waited until a good dicount coupon came along.
