Sure!

Seems that there is a sharp joint which makes even tiny cracks to grow fast and with dramatical sequences.

This picture is better http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo...eat=directlink

Perhaps you (or your significant other) could use epoxy putty (like this) to connect the two parts back together. With the Sony stylus, since both the metal body and the plastic head are hollow, the repair would be internal, and the finished part should look as good as new.

That's my exact plan! With minor correction - a plastic head is not hollow, it should be drilled for repair. I have found a 1,5mm bit already.

I have just become an unwilling member of the broken prs-350 stylus club. Do we have a newsletter or anything like that?

I'd welcome you to the club... but it's also not one I'm keen to be a member of. Mine's still broken like in 1drey's pic, except the plastic has cracked almost completely now. I've just taken to using a Nintendo DS stylus and carrying it about separately.

I repaired my broken stylus.
Drilled a plastic part with 1,5mm bit using had tool - be careful not setting too high rotational speed as the shitty polystyrene it is made from melts easily.
Unscrewed broken threaded part from the aluminium part of the stylus.
Cut a part of paper clip, made a couple of tiny curves on it.
Prepared a drop of epoxy glue (with addition of flour - to make it less 'liquid') and assembled everything in one part.

Looks almost like new except for the tip which melted partially bacause I was not aware of rotational speed, but it ain't seen when a stylus is in it's place. Keeps a bit more tight in it's place.

And another member of the broken stylus club. Clearly a design fault. It just fell apart as I took it out - snapped in the same place as all the others.

Handy money-saving tip........
I don't know if sizes are global (!) but a size 11 (UK) knitting needle - plastic I suggest - happens to be exactly the right size for Sony 650PRS's, at least.

Quick trim for length, smooth over, and glue one of those amusing (?) push on rubber erasers for pencils, or whatever you fancy, and job done............

You can even get different colours.

Suits you, sir......................

You could buy a replacement PRS-650 stylus, and modify it as described in the following thread:

'Nother alternative - wooden keebab stick / skewer (the thin ones, obviously).

You can even go to all the effort of varnishing/colouring it as well........

Yes, that is $62.91 for the little plastic, poorly designed, stylus replacement. I found this unbelievable, but I did confirm the price on the parts page.

Almost had a heart attack here! $62.91

Knitting needle makes a lot more sense...

I've really taken to using a q-tip (as suggested on this board in another topic) though for my regular reading. Fantastic for turning the pages with the ligtst of swipes and also for pointing. Have to find a way to store it in the cover though....

Sony USA wants $62.91 for the Stylus? They must be insane.

This Sony authorized service center in Germany lists it for 11.41 Euros, which is about $16.
