I've just bought the powermonkey classic v2 for my wife, whose iPhone always runs out of battery in the middle of the day.
Seeing this topic, one can't help asking if anyone has used it with DR1000s. Any feedback?

Best Regards

I tested the 'about $20' now - perfect! It may well support both power supply and data transfer. And its quality is so good when it is seen and used. It was cool that it does..

BIG PROBLEM OCCURED!!

Today I connected my DR1000S which was turned off with tekkeon which was turned on for some hours then tekkeon dischaged at all although DR1000S was turned off and fully charged.
The problem is that my DR1000S don't turn on any more after that!!
What's this problem??
It shocked me so much now.. Please help me!! I don't know what I should do now..

ps. I just guess that my DR1000S was over-charged a little and it'd be the reason.. But I have no idea at all;;; Now I just put DR1000S alone and give it some time for its revival...

---
(added)
Wow, I reset my DR1000S and it revived right now! Great!
But I still wonder the reason of that problem to prevent it..
It means that I should turn off tekkeon when I don't use DR1000S? In addition, I always connect them with each other.
Anyway, I'm so happy to see its revival now..!

Although we can't be sure, I don't think it overcharged. The battery management circuit prevents it from overcharging.

There have been reports of the DR discharging overnight after the device was turned off. It is suspected that the device does not always turn off properly, due to some part of the software not terminating. This was particularly a problem for the 1.x firmware. Although 2.x reduced the chance of this happening, I think it was never completely solved.

If you leave your Tekkeon connected, it does not really hurt when this occurs. The only issue is that if the DR does not turn off properly, it will not only discharge its internal battery, but also the Tekkeon. You can then not use the Tekkeon to turn it on.

Thanks for your reply!
Now it's working well so I'm relieved as I mentioned yesterday..

About batteries for Tekcharger

I bought 4 Sanyo 2700mAh batteries for it and used them several times. But their self-draining was a problem - they drained without any use in several days. So I ordered 4 Sanyo Eneloop 2000mAh batteries today. Maybe they'll be more suitable with this charger although I had to pay some more money..

Ah, recently it doesn't work well on data trasfer - PC can't recognize DR1000S well with it. Haha, then I just wasted $20? But it 'sometimes' works

Finally I decided to connect the device with USB charger when using it.. These battery packs ran out too shortly..

However, I saw that the buttons on the device somtimes freeze when the device is connected with my '1.5A' USB charger after it is charged fully.. If this problem continues to happen, I'll try it with '0.5A' USB charger because there was no problem when connected with PC(0.5A) or Tekcharger(0.8A).. Moreover, as I mentioned, I connect it not for charge but for erasing its white noise.
Finally, I may pay some more money to buy a new USB charger;;

(re-added)
It seems that 'freezing buttons' doesn't happen all the time with my 1.5A USB charger.. Now I'm observing my device to see it certainly before ordering the new USB charger..

Finally I bought a new 0.5A charger for about $5. However, it gives off white noise!! lol I bought it to prevent the white noise from DR1000S but this charger gives off its own white noise. What a perturbing thing it was. So I threw it away. I hesitate to pay for one more again and use the 1.5A one now..

Other people have seen this same issue (buttons freezing) when using a third party charger that the DR1000 wasn't quite compatible with. It's usually a sign that the V is off though, not really the A involved.

Oh, I see. I ordered 'another' 0.5A charger for DR1000S and mabye it'll arrive today. I'll test with it..

I've got another new 0.5A charger now and tested it but it showed so ridiculous thing. When I didn't connect it, no white noise comes out from DR1000S but when I connected it, another white noise comes out from DR1000S. So now I should throw it away to trash box again..
It seems that I should give up looking for 'another' charger for DR1000S. My 1.5A charger works well except making DR1000S freeze..

Feeze problem of DR1000S doesn't stop with my 1.5A charger so I ordered another charger 'again' now. This is my 5th try for DR1000S. It's 1.0A one, which be the last try I strongly hope!!

I assume you've already looked at the "DR accessory list" sticky thread?

Ah, I've forgot it totally, thanks! But maybe most of them are not sale in the domestic online shop here(out of US and Europe) so it needs internatinal shipping fee.. But it's very helpful information and one of them may be last choice for me if what I ordered at this time doesn't work properly, either.

I got a new charger(1.0A) and tested it today. Surely, 'A' doesn't have something to do with the freezing problem - this new charger(1.0A) just freezes all of sensors on DR1000S every time I connect it. As Shaggy said, 'V' of a charger is the key. I couldn't guess that such many USB chargers on the market have inappropriate voltage.
Maybe my last solution would be Tekkeon MP1650 on the DR1000S accessory list.. Or I'm considering using my MP1550 although I should charge it frequently..(somewhat difficult question)
