Quite! At work, if I get repeated solicitation calls after I have clearly asked/ordered them not to call any more, I drop the handset from about 6" above the base. That usually works. Or, I'll tell the receptionist on the main phone to put them on hold and forget them. If their calls are being timed, this works too.
