To be honest I'm not that interested in 3G from the point of view of downloading books. I think I would do that at home and have a store of them.

When I'm in the UK then I wouldn't use anything other than the iPhone.

I was really just thinking of use abroad whilst on holiday as roaming charges are so prohibitive that I would not use my iphone. It was really only to allow basic use of GMail and perhaps the odd browsing.
